Many countries recruiting Sri Lankans for employment and education require a pre-departure medical screening to assess the fitness of the candidate.This process ensures you are healthy enough to handle the demands of your new work environment or education course and minimizes potential health risks for you and the public health of the citizens for the foreign country.

Blue Cross is accredited by the Gulf Health Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council States under the Wafid Program to conduct pre-departure medical screening for Sri Lankans traveling for employment and education to the Royal Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, State of Kuwait, Sultanate of Oman, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Qatar.

What to Expect:

  • Medical History Review: You may need to provide a detailed medical history including past illnesses, vaccinations, and current medications.
  • Physical Examination: A doctor will perform a physical examination to assess your overall health and fitness for travel and work. This may include blood pressure checks, vision tests, and a review of your respiratory and cardiovascular systems.
  • Laboratory investigation to screen for communicable and non-communicable diseases
  • X-ray investigations to screen for tuberculosis (TB) and other pulmonary diseases
  • Vaccinations: Depending on your destination and job requirements, you may need to be vaccinated against specific diseases like hepatitis A & B, MMR, typhoid fever, or rabies.
